Biography
Dr. Sachsenmeier is an assistant professor of anatomy at Duquesne University College
of Osteopathic Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received dual Bachelor of
Science degrees in Biology and Forensic Science from West Virginia University. She
also completed a Master of Science degree in Forensic and Biological Anthropology
from Mercyhurst University where she focused on how soil and human microbiomes interact
during the post-mortem interval. Most recently, she is a graduate of Lake Erie College
of Osteopathic Medicine's doctoral program in Anatomy Education. Her doctoral dissertation
focused on the implementation of gamification and game-based learning in review sessions
for master’s and medical students at an osteopathic medical school. She is excited
to continue her research into different ways to enhance medical education.
Dr. Sachsenmeier is enthusiastic about the opportunity to be involved with teaching
and mentoring the inaugural and future classes of Duquesne University College of Osteopathic
Medicine.
