Biography
David Nows is an assistant professor of law and the director of the Joint JD/MBA program.
Nows’ main research interest is the financing transactions that fuel entrepreneurial ventures at their earliest stages. He is the author of thirteen law review articles in total and has authored articles published (or forthcoming) in the University of Colorado Law Review, Nevada Law Journal, Case Western Reserve Law Review, and Indiana Law Journal Supplement, among other publications.
At Duquesne Kline, Nows teaches business organizations, securities regulation, and advising startups and small businesses. Previously, Nows has taught roughly a dozen different courses at the intersection of law and business in the business school setting, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Prior to joining Duquesne Kline, David was an assistant professor of entrepreneurship at Central Michigan University’s College of Business Administration, where he served in various roles as a faculty member for six years. Nows led CMU’s Entrepreneurship Department for two years as chairperson.
As an attorney, David practiced corporate law in Lansing, Michigan at a large, regional law firm. Nows is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where he was an Associate Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law, and the University of Michigan, where he majored in Communication Studies and Political Science
