Biography
Debbie Kostosky has been part of Spiritan Campus Ministry since her arrival on campus in 1998 – first as a volunteer and then as a member of the staff since 2001. She is involved with the Rosary Group, Bible Study, the OCIA Program, the Mullens, West Virginia, Spiritan Mission Experience, the Winter Pilgrimage, and the Crochet Club. Debbie also coordinates the monthly Libermann Luncheons and the Lenten Series Luncheons, which include the annual blanket-making project and the food drive to benefit the Brother Keating Food Pantry. She facilitates several other service project opportunities with students on campus.
Debbie recruits, trains, and schedules all volunteer liturgical ministers and coordinates all major liturgical events on campus, including the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit and the Baccalaureate Liturgies. She is also responsible for the scheduling and paperwork coordination of all weddings that are celebrated in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
Debbie has made her commitment as a Lay Spiritan Associate within the United States Province of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. An extension of this entails organizing the Sunday Spiritan Friends gatherings held quarterly on campus. She also teaches classes on the Spiritans through the International Relations Department and the Catholic Studies Program.
In her free time, she enjoys knitting and crocheting, often donating the scarves she creates to the “Crocheting for Peace” initiative at the Spiritan-run Holy Ghost Prep High School in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
