Diana Dawson boasts a distinguished career in higher education spanning over three decades, primarily focusing on guiding students through college admissions and academic advising. She held significant roles at Duquesne University and Vincentian Academy-Duquesne University, where she played pivotal roles in admissions coordination and student support.
During her time at Duquesne University from 1982 to 1994 and again from 2002 to 2016, Diana served in various capacities within the Admissions Office, advancing from Admissions Counselor to Associate Director of Admissions. Her responsibilities included providing personalized guidance to prospective students and families, assisting with career and major selection, offering insights into financial aid and scholarships, and representing the university at events.
Between 1994 and 2002, Diana served as the Admissions Coordinator at Vincentian Academy-Duquesne University, contributing significantly to the establishment of the institution. Her efforts included admissions coordination, facilitating financial aid, and engaging with prospective students and parents, laying the foundation for the academy's success.
Since 2016, Diana has continued her commitment to student success as an Academic Advisor within the School of Science and Engineering at Duquesne University. In this role, she supports approximately 300 undergraduate students annually with course selection, career planning, and college life adjustments. Diana's extensive experience and dedication to student development make her an invaluable asset to the university community, embodying the Spiritan values of service and compassion in all her endeavors.
