Biography
Diana Ruffer is lover of the performing arts and has served in many different administrative roles at various collegiate institutions such as Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Penn State University, William & Mary, and Christopher Newport University. It brings her such joy to work in these roles to help bring students to their fullest potential and assist in serving a mission of putting students first. She is thrilled to join the Duquesne University community working in her new role at the Mary Pappert School of Music as Assistant to the Deans.
As a clarinetist, Diana earned her bachelor’s degree in music at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee studying with Michael Norsworthy and her master’s degree in music at The New England Conservatory studying with Richard Stoltzman. She actively performs along the east coast with orchestras such as The Charlotte, Richmond, and The Virginia Symphony Orchestras and has had the pleasure of performing alongside artists such as Andrea Bocceli, Byron Stripling, Erika Henningsen, María Dueñas, and Jane Eaglen. Diana also loves to collaborate with others to create chamber music and to work with composers to help bring new works to life.
Outside of her work, teaching, and performance life, Diana can be found spending time with her husband and two dogs, Jane Isadora and Lucy Eleanor Digsby.
