Biography

Elizabeth McCadden is a dedicated legal professional with a diverse background in workers' compensation and legal education. She holds a B.S. in Physics from Dickinson College (2009) and has built a unique career that combines practical experience with a deep understanding of law.

After graduating from Dickinson College, Liz worked for five years as an adjuster, where she managed all aspects of workers' compensation claims for large national and multinational self-insured companies. She was recognized as a subject matter expert in Pennsylvania jurisdiction and also handled claims in several other states.

In 2015, Liz joined Carpenter, McCadden & Lane, LLP as the Office Manager and Paralegal in their Pittsburgh office. During this time, she earned her Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional (CMSP) certification in 2016 and played a key role in founding the firm’s Medicare Compliance practice group.  She was a frequent lecturer on various workers’ compensation topics, including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Medicare Secondary Payer compliance issues, further demonstrating her expertise in these fields.

Liz pursued a legal education, earning her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2021 while working full-time. Her academic achievements include receiving CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Employment Law, Secured Transactions, and Sales. Liz was also awarded second place in the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Law Student Writing Competition for her paper, Proposed Legislative Update: Medical Management in Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation, which was later published in the PBA Workers' Compensation Law Section Newsletter.

Liz is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
