Biography
Dr. Anderson, a native of Saxonburg, PA, about an hour north of Pittsburgh, completed his undergraduate studies in Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh and was an inaugural participant in the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) undergraduate research fellowship. He then earned his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During his medical training, Dr. Anderson was on staff with Medical Campus Outreach (MCO), a ministry serving the five medical schools in the Philadelphia region, and assisted MCO staff in leading the Summer Medical Institute—a summer immersion program for medical students in urban Philadelphia and Texas/Northern Mexico.
After completing his training, Dr. Anderson returned to Pittsburgh to join The East Liberty Family Health Care Center (ELFHCC), where he has practiced pediatrics since 2003. At ELFHCC, he served as Chief Medical Officer for Informatics and Quality from 2019 and spent a year as Interim Chief Executive Officer. He was also honored to mentor medical students through the University of Pittsburgh CMDA chapter during his first decade of practice and has enjoyed teaching outpatient pediatrics to continuity residents from Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh since 2011.
Dr. Anderson is excited to join the exceptional team at Duquesne College of Osteopathic Medicine and looks forward to continuing his work in teaching and mentoring students as they pursue the call to practice medicine.
