Biography
Jacqulyn Obara is a dedicated legal professional with extensive experience in various facets of the law. Currently serving as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas E. Flaherty at the Court of Common Pleas, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, she has had the privilege of contributing to both the Family Division and the Criminal Division since January 2006.
Her journey in the legal field began with a focus on family matters as an associate attorney at a small law firm. She continued her family law focus when she began to serve as a Law Clerk for Hon. Thomas E. Flaherty within the Family Division from January 2006 to December 2010. Building upon this foundational experience, Jacqulyn transitioned to the Criminal Division in January 2011, where she continues to provide diligent support and assistance to the court.
In addition to her role as a Law Clerk, Jacqulyn has had the honor of serving as a Divorce Hearing Officer within the Family Division since May 2019. This role has allowed her to apply her expertise in family law to facilitate fair and equitable resolutions in divorce proceedings.
Recognizing the importance of applying legal knowledge in diverse contexts, she has also expanded her horizons beyond the courtroom. Since January 2015, Jacqulyn has served as In-house Counsel at Johnson Boiler Works, Inc. in Benwood, WV. In this capacity, she provides invaluable legal guidance and support to the company, contributing to its continued success and compliance with legal regulations.
Furthermore, she has had the privilege of serving as a Discovery Master within the Family Division from 2011 until May 2019. In this role, Jacqulyn played a crucial part in overseeing the discovery process, ensuring that all parties involved had fair and equal access to relevant information.
Prior to her current positions, she served as Of Counsel at Audley Law Offices in Pittsburgh, PA, from January 2015 to May 2019. This experience provided her with valuable insights into private practice and further honed her legal skills.
