Biography
Dr. Manjulata Evatt joined Duquesne University in August 2015 as an Assistant Professor at School of Nursing, and was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor in 2022. Dr. Evatt received her BSN and MSN from Christian Medical College India, and her DNP from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research and scholarly interests are focused on patient safety and cultural competence. Her DNP capstone QI project, "The Development and Implementation of an Educational Process for Electronic Nursing Admission Assessment Documentation," evaluated the implementation of the admission assessment documentation tool on nurse satisfaction and the accuracy and compliance with established admission documentation requirements for the EMR.
Dr. Evatt's teaching responsibilities include the undergraduate courses: Fundamentals of Nursing and Clinical Ethics; and Information Technology in Nursing. Her scholarly work focuses on building online courses on clinical nursing practice for international graduate students. Dr. Evatt serves as manuscript reviewer for the MedSurg Nursing Journal of the Academy of Medical Surgical Nursing.

Research Interests & Expertise
My research interests are focused on patient safety and cultural competence. My DNP capstone QI project titled "The Development and Implementation of an Educational Process for Electronic Nursing Admission Assessment Documentation" evaluated the implementation of the admission assessment documentation tool on nurse satisfaction and the accuracy and compliance with established admission documentation requirements for the EMR. My future work will dissemminate and evaluate this tool to other nursing units.
