Biography

Marci Zsamboky returned to Duquesne University School of Nursing in 2022 as the Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practioner Program. She is a psychiatric mental health Nurse Practitioner with a Lifespan specialty, as well as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with children and adolescence. Dr. Zsamboky has more then 25 years of experience teaching in the clinical setting. She has received several awards for her teaching, including the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award in Teaching Excellence from University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and the 2019 Sara K. Archer Award for Outstanding Faculty from the PMHNP Program at Vanderbilt University. Additionally, Dr. Zsamboky is the 2021 recipient of a $1,920,000 Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Program Grant.

Dr. Zsamboky is active in several professional organizations including the National Organization for Nurse Practitioner Faculties, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau since 1994, and serves on several psychiatric association boards. Dr. Zsamboky is an active volunteer in the community particularly related to mental health issues.
