Biography
Raye J Budway, M.D., F.A.C.S. is an associate professor at Duquesne University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she currently serves as the Chief of the Division of General Surgery. She completed her surgical training at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital surgical residency program where she earned accolades for teaching as a surgical resident. She broadened her surgical skills with a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where she was awarded the fellow of the year. She honed her skills as a surgical educator during her tenor in the Western Pennsylvania Hospital Surgical residency program as the assistant program director. As the Allegheny Health Network and Western Pennsylvania Hospital surgical residency programs combined, she was instrumental in a smooth transition and subsequently became the site director at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital campus. She was recruited to St. Clair Health as director of their breast oncology program and serves as cancer liaison physician to the American College of Surgeons. Her surgical practice focuses on breast oncology and acute care surgery. Her research interests reside in complications related to breast cancer treatment and their prevention.
