The School of Nursing has earned two Top-5 spots in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings, reinforcing Duquesne’s standing as a leader in accessible and career-advancing graduate nursing education.
The University’s online Master’s in Nursing Education ranked No. 4 nationwide, while the online Master’s in Nursing Administration rose two spots to No. 5, placing both programs among the nation’s elite.
“Earning two Top-5 national rankings affirms Duquesne’s commitment to student-centered innovation and excellence in online nursing education,” said Dr. Mary Ellen Glasgow, dean of the School of Nursing. “Our programs are designed to meet students where they are—combining flexibility, high-quality instruction and close faculty mentorship to prepare compassionate, practice-ready nurse leaders who are prepared for anything and committed to improving health outcomes.”
The School of Nursing also ranked No. 14 for its online Master’s in Nursing for Veterans and No. 44 overall among online master’s in nursing programs, reflecting Duquesne’s commitment to serving diverse learners and preparing practice-ready nurse leaders for an evolving health care landscape.

Now in its 14th year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs evaluates more than 1,800 online bachelor's and master's degree offerings using metrics specifically aligned to the needs of online learners. Rankings consider factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials, student support and academic reputation.
