For the seventh consecutive year, Duquesne University Palumbo-Donahue School of Business' undergraduate program ranked on Poets&Quants' 2025 list of 'Best Undergraduate Business Schools.'
Poets&Quants, a leading online publication for undergraduate business and education news, ranked Duquesne No. 65 on its prestigious annual list – up three spots from 2024 and 12 spots from 2023.
Poets&Quants uses three equally weighted components to measure undergraduate business schools: admissions standards, students' academic experiences and career outcomes after graduation. For
2025, Poets&Quants surveyed alumni and collected school-reported data. In the final scoring, only 104
business schools met the selection standards.
"Only about 6% of business schools worldwide have earned accreditation from the Association
to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB),” said Dr. Dean McFarlin, dean of
the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business. “Moreover, of these AACSB-accredited schools,
only about 10% have also earned recognition in Poets&Quants’ undergraduate program rankings. Consequently, receiving recognition for the seventh
consecutive year from Poets&Quants is a great honor as it reaffirms our standing among the top business schools globally."
Duquesne's School of Business educates ethical business professionals who lead with
integrity, embrace innovation, and make a difference in their organizations, communities and society. Students
graduate equipped with the skills to overcome challenges and navigate an ever-changing business landscape.
"Historically, our highest ranking has been in the academic experience category. This
year, we are proud to have achieved our best rankings in both the career outcomes
and academic experiences category. This reflects our commitment to ensuring that every
student's journey leads to strong career placement," said McFarlin. "We are totally
committed to enhancing students’ experiences through our exceptional faculty and Center
for Student Success as we transform them into difference-making business professionals
who serve others and lead with integrity in the Spiritan tradition."
The School excels at providing a holistic, hands-on approach to learning that blends academic excellence with real-world experiences.
From their first day on campus until they enter the workforce, Duquesne business students
are challenged to work on corporate projects, take on leadership roles and seek internship
opportunities while benefiting from a large and supportive alumni community.
"My involvement at Duquesne has opened countless doors, offering far more than just an academic experience. The sense of community here is truly unique," said senior Samuel Bessell. "The faculty and staff provide support beyond coursework, offering guidance on life skills and helping me navigate real-world challenges. I take great pride in being a Duquesne student, not only for the quality of education but also for the invaluable lifelong skills I've gained."
