Join colleagues for Embracing Inclusion: Building Bridges Between Education and Medicine—an opportunity to learn more about inclusivity for students with disabilities in classrooms, on campus and in community and health care settings.

Hosted by the John G. Rangos School of Health Sciences, the School of Education and the Disability Options Network, Embracing Inclusion will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Power Center Ballroom

There are two conference tracks: inclusive health care and inclusive higher education. The event features a keynote presentation on creating inclusive classrooms and culturally competent health care from Dr. Al Condeluci, former chief executive officer of Pittsburgh’s Community Living and Support Services.

Guests also will hear from Duquesne faculty, disability experts and advocates, including a Duquesne student and alumni. Advocates will share their experiences in education and health care, offering valuable insight into the challenges and successes of navigating these systems.

Breakout sessions will highlight inclusive teaching practices, health care disparities and diversity in medical education. A networking reception will immediately follow the event, offering guests the opportunity to connect with professionals from the education and health care fields.

Free to attend, conference guests are asked to register online by Friday, Sept. 20. Certificates of participation will be provided.
