Duquesne University's mission includes a profound respect for the dignity of each person, including a commitment that the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of each and every individual be preserved and respected.  This same commitment founds the mission of Title IX and Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Office.  In collaboration with a multitude of Duquesne University programs and departments, our office continuously strives to provide an educational, employment, and business environment free of all forms of sexual misconduct and gender discrimination, including sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, stalking, dating and domestic violence, and other prohibited acts.

As part of this commitment, we require each incoming student to complete an online course series regarding Title IX-related issues.  Incoming undergraduate students and graduate students have different training requirements:

For Graduate students:  you are required to complete the course Lasting Choices:  Prevention Sexual Assault on the external training website United Educators.

For Undergraduate students:  you are required to take the Canvas course ORG-Title IX Orientation (2024) as well as Lasting Choices course.

The Canvas course consists of 4 modules that must be completed in sequential order with module 5 being the link to the Lasting Choices training.  You can access Canvas by logging in to the Duquesne Portal using your MultiPass credentials.  If you need assistance or if you are an undergraduate student who does not see the required Canvas course on your dashboard, please contact titleix@duq.edu.
