SANE Campus Network Program
The SANE Campus Network Program aims to improve the sexual assault response on college and university campuses by SANE-training campus-based nurses and providing them with the resources and education to make positive change on their campus.
Nurses have previously been offered a 10-week online SANE didactic course that also
included a module that focused specifically on campus-based sexual assault. Recruitment
for the 10-week didactic course has now ended, but we do still offer access to the
module to learn more about campus-based sexual assault. This can be accessed online
and covers information such as prevention of sexual assault on campus, unique factors
related to campus-based sexual assault, and how to provide trauma-informed care. We
also have a library of over 20 monthly educational videos, which are one-hour long
videos where an expert in the field has presented on a topic related to campus-based
sexual assault. These are all also available here online.
SANE Campus Network Program - Video Library
Our SANE Campus Network Program team created this four-unit module to provide education about campus-based sexual assault and the unique aspects of assault on a campus setting. This module is comprised of zoom lectures, voiceover PowerPoints, interviews with SANEs, and other resources to provide insight about the varied facets of campus-based sexual assault and how you can support the folks who have experienced this on your campus. While we previously offered contacts hours for continuing education for this module, being that we are no longer an active program, these videos are not eligible for contact hours.
Unit 1: Campus Sexual Assault
Unit 2: Campus Considerations
Unit 3: Acute and Long-Term Care
Unit 4: Prevention and Awareness
Miscellaneous Content and Media
Throughout the duration of the SANE Campus Network Program, experts in the field joined our program to present on topics related to campus-based sexual assault. These presentations were held live but also recorded for folks who were not able to attend the live sessions. These one-hour long sessions focus on a range of diverse topics and are meant to provide more education related to campus-based sexual assault that can be additional to the education provided in the module. Similar to the module, we previously provided contact hours for these sessions, but they are no longer eligible for contact hours. Feel free to look through and pick out what topics would be most helpful for you to learn more about as you continue your education about sexual assault!
