Engineering Pathways to Sustainability
Gain skills to address environmental challenges affecting land, air, and water systems.
Our undergraduate programs equip you with the essential skills required to tackle
modern-day environmental challenges. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and
innovation, you'll have the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiences, collaborative
research and real-world projects.
The Master of Science in Environmental Science and Management (ESM) program offers
a flexible and personalized education focused on developing innovative solutions to
pressing environmental issues. Students may choose a concentration in one of three
areas of study.
Our dual degree programs provide a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to
cross academic disciplines, with more efficiency than a traditional double or triple
major.
My experience at Duquesne was deeply enriched by professors who were knowledgeable
and eager to engage beyond the classroom. Their willingness to connect with me and
help tie my personal interests to course material fostered a deeper understanding
and made my education personally fulfilling.
"My time at Duquesne has been a really great experience. I joined various student
organizations and became part of the Duquesne community. And then my research allowed
me to become part of a larger community, where I could use my skills to help improve
the environment."
Duquesne is a great place to do research because we're small. As a freshman I
was able to start doing research which really aided in me getting the Goldwater scholarship.
