Biography

Lee Rickard is a seasoned educator with thirty years of experience in public school education. At Pine-Richland, Lee conducts five choirs at both the middle and high school levels. His high school choirs have been honored by performing at the PMEA All-State Conference in 2011, 2013, and 2017.

Lee is a recognized leader in public school education, having served in numerous roles within PMEA, including Choir Content Chair for Professional Development and President of PMEA District 1. He has also co-chaired the annual Pennsylvania American Choral Directors Association (PA-ACDA) summer conference three times and coordinated the Junior High PA-ACDA Honors Choir twice. Additionally, he has contributed to the ACDA-PA board as the Southwest Region Chair.

Lee holds a summa cum laude undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and a master’s degree in music education from Duquesne University. Beyond his teaching responsibilities, he has served as a guest conductor for the New York All-State Area Choir, the Pittsburgh Diocesan Choir, and the County Choirs of Somerset, Westmoreland, and Harford (Maryland).

One of Lee's favorite roles as an educator has been to mentor and prepare sixteen Duquesne student teachers for a professional career in music education. 

Outside of his professional commitments, Lee enjoys golf and outdoor activities. He resides north of Pittsburgh with his wife, Jennifer, and their two daughters, Madelyn and Katelyn.
