In November, Duquesne hosted a national conference that examined how generative AI will change the world and what it means for an ethical future. Hosted by the Carl G. Grefenstette Center for Ethics in Science, Technology and Law, the conference explored the impact of AI from the perspectives of the media, policy, business, education, healthcare, and faith.

Former U.S. congressman Conor Lamb and Annie Newman, director of digital strategy for Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s office, joined in the conference’s panel discussions.

The symposium featured national speakers from government, industry and academia to discuss generative AI’s impact on various fields, as well as student and faculty discussions and community conversations.
