Tuition will be $1,061 per course for the 2024-25 academic year. Students are responsible for textbook purchases and paying $45 Westlaw and $35 Lexis Nexis access fees for research courses. Some classes may charge additional fees. No University fees apply.

Refunds for dropped classes will be assessed using the Paralegal Institute's established refund policy.

Funding Your Certificate Studies

The Paralegal Institute encourages prospective students to explore all funding options. Although non-credit certificate programs and courses are not eligible for federal financial aid, other sources can be considered.

Students may choose to finance the program through private education loans. Students should contact lenders directly to verify availability for non-credit professional certificate programs.

Did you know that Duquesne University is a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program? The Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008.

This program allows institutions of higher learning to voluntarily enter into an agreement with Veterans Affairs to fund tuition expenses. The institution can contribute up to 50 percent of those expenses and Veterans Affairs will match the same amount as the institution.

The Post- 9/11 GI Bill® is an education benefit for individuals who served on active duty after September 10, 2001.

Montgomery GI Bil is available to those who enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces. Specifically, the program includes the Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty and the Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve.

Learn more about applying for and using Veterans Affairs benefits at Duquesne University.

After the Department of Veterans Affairs approves benefits, please contact Duquesne University Registrar's Office by email or phone, (412) 396-6211. For additional information regarding benefits, please contact:

The GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Some employers offer tuition assistance for employee training and education. Information about creating a tuition reimbursement account with an employer is available through the University's Student Accounts Office by email or (412) 396-6585. Students should explore with employers the availability of funds through employee training budgets for professional development.
Students may take up to 6 terms of 1 1/2 years to complete the program. This allows students to spread the tuition costs over time as students are billed by course as taken. Most evening students take an average of two courses per eleven-week term. However, the number of courses a student takes each term is an individual choice.
