The award process for prospective undergraduate music majors is unique to the school of music. Your awards will be issued in phases that combine together to form your total award package.
Academic Award
Award Phase 1 (up to $27,000)
Applicants to the Mary Pappert School of Music must first be Provisionally Accepted
to Duquesne University before moving on to the music audition (typically, applicants
must have a 3.0 GPA or better to receive provisional acceptance). An official letter
of provisional acceptance will be issued to the applicant along with an Academic Award that reflects their academic merit.
Audition Award
Award Phase 2 (up to $1,000)
Applicants that pass their music audition and have been fully accepted to the Mary
Pappert School of Music automatically receive the Audition Award. An official letter
of full acceptance will be issued to the applicant along with notification of the
additional award.
*Not available to students enrolled in "Discover Music - Undecided", but can be unlocked if declared major after two semesters is music.
Enhancement Award
Award Phase 3 (up to full tuition; faculty nomination required)
Fully accepted students that display outstanding talent and musical potential during
the audition process have the opportunity to receive additional support from the school
of music in the form of an Enhancement Award. These prestigious honors are reserved
for the most deserving students and can cover up to 100% of tuition.
*Not available to students enrolled in "Discover Music - Undecided", but can be unlocked if declared major after two semesters is music.
