Students going off the Bluff for externships, placements, and community-engagement opportunities represent their departments, school, university and profession. In this faculty conversation, we will explore how faculty can contribute to departmental cultures that prepare students professionally for external placements. Participants are invited to share ways they prepare students for work beyond the campus by considering the following questions:
- How can we forefront professional expectations to prepare students?
- What are some successful departmental or course policies that work to promote student professionalism?
- What practices are most critical for faculty in modeling professionalism to students within the department?
Come and join your colleagues as we collaboratively explore issues and solutions in promoting the professional behavior of our students.
