Tuesday, January 26th
- Screening of Video at Men's Basketball Game
o Watch for a special promo for Founders Week that will air at half time of the game!
Sunday, January 31st
- Kick-Off Mass
o 11am Liturgy in the Chapel
o Prayer cards and founders day bookmarks will be distributed after Mass
Monday, Feb. 1st
- Evening with an African Family
o 6 p.m. | Africa Room
o Enjoy a light dinner featuring African dishes while learning from students about their home cultures in Africa. Held in collaboration with Office of International Programs. RSVP is recommended
- Bulletin Board Contest
o Don't forget to check out the bulletin boards in your Residence Halls decorated with Spiritan Themes!
o Held in Collaboration with Office of Residence Life
o Help us chose a "People's Choice" winner but voting on Facebook (Duquesne Mission and Identity) and Instagram (@DuqMission)
- Greek 101: Living the Spirit
o Ballroom, 9:00pm
o Craig Dietz will speak to the Greek community on how Greek life influenced him in his years at Duquesne and how that is a part of how he continues to Live the Spirit. Held in collaboration with the Office of Greek Life.
Tuesday, February 2nd
- Extra Perk with Honors College
o 7:30am-9:00am, Assumption Hall Lobby
o M&I will be sponsoring pastries for the University Honors College and Assumption Hall Residence. Held in collaboration with the University Honors College.
- Feast Day of Venerable Francis Libermann
o Noon | Duquesne University Chapel of the Holy Spirit
o The Founders Day Lunch to follow.
- Founders Week Luncheon
o 12:45 p.m.| Africa Room
o Alumnus Craig Dietz will speak on how he Lives the Spirit as he lives life to its fullest as a life-long quadriplegic.
o Co-sponsored with Office of Special Services. RSVP is required
- "Feast on Feast Days" Give Away
o 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. | Duquesne Union, third floor at NEW Spiritan Map
o Stop by and receive a FREE walking taco and Founders Week t-shirt! Held in collaboration with Freshmen Development.
- Poverty Simulation
o 5 p.m. | Africa Room
o Join our Habitat for Humanity campus chapter for an engaging exercise that offers a better understanding of what it means to live below the poverty line in our country. RSVP is recommended
- Special Feast Day Dinner
o 4 - 7:30 p.m. | Rev. Sean Hogan Dining Center
o Enjoy a special feast day dinner featuring foods from countries where Spiritans serve including Taiwan, Brazil, France, Italy, Tanzania and Vietnam.
- Evening of Spiritan Stories
o 7 p.m. | Living Learning Centers (except Towers), Check lobby for room number.
o Enjoy an evening of storytelling. Spiritan Fathers will share stories of their travels, times in the missions and other adventures! Held in collaboration with Office of Residence Life.
o Founders Week t-shirts will be given away at these events!
Wednesday, February 3rd
- Spiritan Pedagogy: Scholarship and the Spiritan Ethos (Faculty Event)
o 4 p.m. | Seifert Suite, Duquesne Union
o Faculty are invited to attend a conversation on the intersections between their scholarship and the Spiritan ethos. Held in collaboration with Center for Catholic Intellectual Tradition. RSVP Required
- Spiritan Destinations: An Evening of World Music
o 7:30 p.m. | PNC Recital Hall, School of Music
o Enjoy music with a global flair! Music students and local musicians will perform music representative of countries where Spiritans serve including Trinidad & Tobago, India, Brazil and Ghana. Held in collaboration with the School of Music. RSVP is recommended
Thursday, Feb. 4
- Spiritan Stories: Commuter Edition

o Commuters are welcome to join us for lunch and to hear stories from Fr. Dan Walsh C.S.Sp. about his time in the Amazon, his work in Houston, and his journey here at DU. Held in collaboration with the Office for Commuter Affairs and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

- An Evening of Flights

o Cost is $25, THIS IS AN OVER 21 EVENT
o Hear from Spiritans about their flights around the globe while enjoying a local Beer Flight and hors d'ouevrs! Proceeds from this event will benefit the Spiritan Mission in the Dominican Republic. RSVP is required
- Trivia Night
o 7 p.m. | The Red Ring
o Stop by for a round of trivia hosted by Fr. Ray French. A limited number of free t-shirts will be given away! Held in collaboration with DPC.
- Spiritan Stories: Fr. Ray Interviews Fr. John Sawicki
o 9 p.m. | Towers Multi-purpose Room
o Fr. Ray will interview Fr. Sawicki on his life before he became a Spiritan and his adventures since at the second annual Spiritan Stories Interview Edition. You won't want to miss this event! Held in collaboration with Office of Residence Life. RSVP is recommended
Friday, Feb. 5
- Lunch and Learn: "Why Africa?"
o Noon | Africa Room
o Fr. Bill Christy will share how our work at Duquesne and our work in Africa is based in our Spiritan African roots. Held in collaboration with Spiritan Campus Ministry. RSVP is required
- Vespers and Reception
o 4:30 p.m. | Trinity Hall
o All are invited to attend this traditional evening prayer followed by a reception. RSVP is required for the reception.
