Welcome to the John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences (RSHS) at Duquesne University.

This is truly an exciting time to consider a career in healthcare and in the health sciences. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 13% job growth through 2031, much faster than the average for all occupations, adding about 2 million new jobs. To meet the demands and challenges of the health care field, I invite you to join the next generation of dedicated health practitioners, top-level healthcare executives, and excellent scholars that we train at the RSHS.

With more than 1100 students and 63 full-time faculty members, the RSHS is one of the largest health sciences schools in the country with a national reputation for excellence in clinical instruction, research, and advocacy. We educate our students to be truly outstanding health care professionals and citizens capable of explaining, investigating, and delivering the highest level of quality care with kindness, dignity, responsibility, and respect.

At the RSHS, we are committed to providing excellent scientific and clinical education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The school offers an extensive range of academic programs including baccalaureate degrees in athletic training, biomedical engineering, health administration, health sciences, public health; master degree programs in biomedical engineering, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, health administration; and doctoral degree programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and rehabilitation science. Several of our graduate programs are nationally accredited and ranked with excellent graduate placement rates.

Our nationally and internationally-renowned faculty are experts in their fields and actively engaged in clinical practice and scientific research. They emphasize interprofessional education, evidence-based practice, and community-based learning experiences in their teaching and mentorship. Students have ample opportunities to be involved in ongoing research projects and participate in service learning, clinical placements, and internships aimed at improving the health and quality of life for people across their lifespan.

We are very proud of our dedicated faculty and staff as well as of the professional success of our students and alumni. Our graduates excel in their respective professional licensing exams and are well prepared to assume clinical and leadership roles in the communities they serve locally, nationally, and globally.

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about the high quality and innovative program offerings at our school. We look forward to working with you to help you achieve your career aspirations. We look forward to seeing you on campus.
