The success of the Division in admitting, retaining, and transferring students into the College and all other schools of the University and in those students ultimately graduating is revealed in the retention and graduation rates of Gussin Spiritan Division (GSD) students.

  • The average QPA for 2017 freshman class (Cohort 21) by end of Spring 2018 is 2.84

  • 19% students received QPA 3.5 or higher, 33% students were in range of 3.0 and 3.5, 20% students were in range 2.5 and 3.0, 11% in range 2.0 and 2.5, 87% students are in good standing (2.0 or higher QPA as per university) only 8% students receive QPA less than 1.5 (The retention QPA for freshmen)

  • 23% of the freshman class received Dean's list (3.5 or higher QPA per semester) in academic year 2017-2018

  • Average (1997-2017) the first to second year retention for GSD freshman classes: 82%, for Duquesne: 87%.

  • The last 4-year (2014-2018) Graduation rate for Traditional GSD students is 62%. (University = 68%, National = 59%)

  • Students who began their courses of study at Duquesne have graduated from every school of the University. The percentages are as follows: College-42%; Business-41%; Education-11%; Nursing-2%; Natural and Environmental Sciences-2%; Music-1%; Health Sciences-1%; Pharmacy-2 Students; Leadership-2 Students
