MS in Analytics and Information Management Begins this Fall at Duquesne
A new master's degree launched by the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business at Duquesne University will provide students with analytical skills and business acumen to impact data-driven decision-making. A master's certificate option also is available for this program.
Applications are being accepted for the new MS in Analytics and Information Management (MS AIM) as well as a master's certificate option which begin this fall. Students will learn to apply models, analytical methods and visualization tools to data, resulting in insight that leads to better business decisions.
"This completely new program, designed from the ground up, includes cutting-edge experiences, the latest analytics tools and a hybrid format that will be convenient for students," said Dr. Dean McFarlin, dean of the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business.
The MS AIM is a 30-credit program that includes 10 innovative courses that will give students an advantage in today's fast-growing, competitive job market. The program also offers flexibility for working professionals, who can complete the degree in just one year or in less than two years part-time.
"The bottom line is that analytical judgment and digital savvy in today's fast-paced business environment, one increasingly dominated by big data and AI, is critical," said McFarlin. "This program meets the demands of the marketplace and will deliver outstanding career return on investment for graduates, thanks to our dedicated and experienced information systems faculty."
In addition, the MS AIM is a STEM Designated Program, a classification signifying that it provides interdisciplinary technical and mathematical skills, and the astuteness to help solve complex business issues and help navigate the future of business.
"Innovative technologies have allowed us to collect unprecedented amounts of data for companies to use in decision making," added Dr. Karen Donovan, associate dean of graduate programs & executive education. "In Duquesne's MS AIM program, students learn how to harness the data to make better business decisions and also how to communicate the story that the data is telling. Merging these quantitative and communication skill sets will distinguish our students in the marketplace."
The new 15-credit master's certificate in analytics and information management is AACSB-accredited and can be completed part-time in just one year. It's designed for working professionals who have a graduate degree or have business experience and want to enhance their knowledge of analytics and information management. It's also a great option for those with a bachelor's degree and are interested in gaining or improving their analytics and information management knowledge and skills across all functional areas.
The certificate program's format of hybrid and online courses offers flexibility, convenience and opportunities for students to collaborate on real projects and network with industry leaders.
