Seventh Annual Accounting CPE Conference Slated at Duquesne University
Duquesne University's Palumbo-Donahue School of Business and its accounting department will host its seventh annual Accounting CPE Conference tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 14, on campus.
Augustine "Gus" Faucher, senior vice president and chief economist for PNC Financial Services Group, will discuss the U.S. and local economic outlook during the keynote address at noon. The principal spokesperson on all economic issues for PNC, Faucher is frequently cited by or has been a guest expert on international, national and regional media, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CNBC, NPR and Marketplace, among others.
Other topics addressed during the conference include accounting and auditing issues for small and mid-size businesses; the impact of technology on accounting and auditing; and practical issues facing today's controllers. Updates on accounting standards and individual/corporate taxes will also be discussed.
Conference presenters and panelists include faculty from the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business as well as representatives from Schneider Downs, CONSOL Energy, UPMC, PwC, Westinghouse, Alcoa, Liberty Tire Recycling LLC, FASB and RGP.
