Consistent with the University's announced decision regarding campus events with expected attendance of 50 or more, please be advised that we are canceling the Diversity Fair which had been scheduled for April 15, 2020.

Building an Environment of Inclusion

Discover how Duquesne values - and promotes - diversity in the classroom, in the workplace, and in student programs and activities.

April is Celebrate Diversity Month, started in 2004 to recognize and honor the diversity that surrounds us. By celebrating differences and similarities during this month, we hope that members of our campus community will gain a deeper appreciation for one another.

The Diversity Fair 2020 committee members invite you to participate in the University's Diversity and Inclusion Fair. This year's theme is "Crowd the Union....Celebrating The Spirit through Love and Community". We are asking departments/schools/student organizations to send one or two representatives to the Fair to staff a table to display and share information about programs offered on campus and diversity and inclusion initiatives. In addition:

  1. Participants will receive a passport upon entry to the Fair to use as they travel to different stations throughout their journey and will receive a stamp at the end of their visit.
  2. Participants who visit five or more stations will turn-in their passport for a prize drawing.

The Fair will take place on Wednesday, April 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Student Union Atrium including the 2nd and 3rd floors. Representatives will have access to their assigned table starting at 9:30 a.m. Please contact Marla D. Bradford at bradfordm845@duq.edu or 412.396.1403 to secure your table. Registration deadline date is Friday, March 22nd.

The Diversity and Inclusion Fair will encourage community members to engage and be inspired by what is offered for and by our student groups, faculty, and staff. We want all who work and study at Duquesne to know that their contributions matter, and that they will be supported in achieving their full potential. Building an environment of inclusion is stitched into the fabric of our mission, and integrated into our shared Spiritan values. We hope that you will join us in recognizing and celebrating Duquesne's beautiful, diverse community.
