No audition is required, but students who wish to add the Music & Health in Integrative Care undergraduate minor must interview with the Music Therapy department chair before they can be approved to add the minor.

The Music & Health Minor is a course of study for students interested in the reciprocal relationship between music and health. Students will learn how to competently and ethically integrate music into their careers and practices through engagement in diverse music experiences, explorations of music as a cultural practice of health, and studies on the history of music in health-promoting processes. With 12 elective credits available across 15 available courses, the minor provides students with the choice to shape their learning to individualized learning needs. Please note that the Music & Health Minor does not prepare students to practice music therapy.

For more information on the music therapy program, you can visit duq.edu/musictherapy or email Dr. Noah Potvin (potvinn@duq.edu).
