You'll have the opportunity to tailor your academic journey by choosing from a variety of degree programs for your bigger goals.

Biological Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences tailors its curriculum to your unique interests and career aspirations while providing a strong foundation in the biological sciences. Through hands-on learning, research opportunities and close collaboration with faculty, you’ll develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to explore diverse career paths in areas such as health care, research, environmental science, biotechnology and more.

Biotechnology

The Biotechnology program equips you with the scientific and business expertise to succeed in the biotechnology field while developing your written and presentation skills through research, internships and independent study. The 4+1 Biology/Biotechnology program accelerates your educational and career path, allowing you to earn a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a master’s degree in Biotechnology in five years.

Chemistry & Biochemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry emphasizes practical application and hands-on experiences, giving you opportunities to put what you learn in the classroom into practice. Through laboratory experiences, research, internships and close collaboration with faculty, you’ll build a strong foundation in chemistry and biochemistry while developing the critical thinking, problem-solving and technical skills needed to succeed in a variety of career paths.

Environmental Science

The Environmental Science program delivers a well-rounded education that connects scientific knowledge with real-world environmental challenges. Through hands-on learning, field experiences, laboratory work and research opportunities, you’ll develop a diverse skill set spanning biology, chemistry, ecology and environmental science. You’ll learn to examine complex environmental issues, analyze data and develop evidence-based solutions while gaining the practical experience needed to address challenges facing our communities and natural world.

Math & Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science provides a comprehensive education that brings together mathematical theory, computational thinking and real-world problem-solving. Through interdisciplinary coursework, hands-on learning and opportunities to apply your skills, you’ll develop a strong foundation in mathematics and computer science while exploring how these fields intersect across a wide range of industries and disciplines.

The Physics department prepares you for success in academia, industry, or science communication by imparting the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking essential for your chosen path, offering hands-on research opportunities, personalized mentorship, and empowering you to actively participate in scientific discovery for a fulfilling career in innovation.
