Undergraduate Teacher Certification
You will learn how to become a leading teacher in our PreK-4, Middle Level (4-8), or Secondary (7-12) undergraduate teacher certification programs. Our programs are nationally accredited and guided by standards from the State of Pennsylvania and national professional organizations. In the Duquesne classroom, you will learn from faculty who care and who are leaders themselves. In the field, you will have the opportunity to shadow in K-12 classrooms, student teach, and if you wish, study or teach abroad!
Bachelor of Science in Education Degrees
- B.S.Ed. Early Childhood Education, PreK-4

5-Year Early Start Graduate Programs
Undergraduate upperclassmen with strong academic backgrounds can get a jump start on graduate work at Duquesne during their junior or senior year. These students have the opportunity to take up to 5 courses in a Master's level program at the undergraduate tuition rate in this 5-Year Early Start Graduate Program.
Graduate Teacher Certification
For our graduate students who are looking to teach a different grade level or subject area, or for our graduate students who are new to the teaching profession, Duquesne University's graduate teacher certification programs will allow you to learn the skills you need to further your career. Our programs are nationally accredited and guided by standards from the State of Pennsylvania and national professional organizations. The core experiences found within The Leading Teaching program are also found within the curriculum of the graduate teacher certification programs. Our program teaches you to be a leader in the PreK-4, Secondary (7-12), or World Languages (K-12) classroom. Study or teach abroad opportunities are available as well!

Undergraduate and Graduate Tuition Awards
Undergraduate freshman and transfer students accepted into our School of Education are eligible to receive a 50% tuition scholarship. As an undergraduate or graduate student you may be eligible for tuition awards to help finance the investment in your education. If you are a graduate student, depending upon the program and eligibility, our awards range from 25%-60% towards tuition.
