A Competitive Edge for a Creative Field
The Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University has canceled all remaining in-person concerts, recitals, and events for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester.
Because we have a strong belief that music has the power to unite, to heal, and to uplift, and as a way to contribute to the ongoing effort to combat the effects of the coronavirus, we created a brand-new virtual concert series called A Little Friday Night Music.
Each Friday at 7:30 p.m. (beginning this Friday, March 27 and for the remainder of the semester), we will premiere a video of past performances from our school to our YouTube channel. We hope you all will click over to these performances as they go live, creating a community of people who are all listening to the same music at the same time. To that end, we've set up a playlist that will grow with each video posted.
As details for each premiere become available, they will be listed in the calendar below. We sincerely hope you will take a moment each Friday night to tune in!
Whether you're interested in performance, technology, education, or therapy, the School of Music has the faculty and resources to prepare you for a successful career. Here, you are challenged to connect historical and current music practices, blending the traditional with current technology and focusing on both theory and performance. In doing so, you will graduate from the School of Music a well-rounded professional, ready to succeed.
