Biography
David Fortna is a seasoned higher education professional with a comprehensive skill set spanning coaching under-represented students, career services, alumni relations, admissions, leadership, and team-building.
Known for his expertise in fostering cross-functional relationships, he strategically aligns internal constituents and stakeholders from various public and private external organizations.
His career highlights include the establishment of strategic growth initiatives and
successfully facilitating connections between students and professional opportunities.
Currently serving as the Director of Executive Education and Leadership Development
at Duquesne University, David instructs career and professional development for One-Year
MBA students, oversees executive education programs, and serves as a career coach
for graduate students.
His leadership extends to his previous role as the Chief External Relations Officer at Sewickley Academy, where he led a team of 12 professionals focusing on enrollment, market positioning, brand engagement, alumni engagement, and fundraising.
