15th Annual Katie Westbrook 5K & Dog Walk Slated at Duquesne University

The Duquesne University School of Law, the Student Bar Association and the Animal Law Society are teaming up again to host the 15th Annual Katie Westbrook 5K & Dog Walk.

The race is held in memory of Katie Westbrook, a local girl whose dream at age 13 was to become a lawyer. Westbrook, who suffered from a rare bone cancer, passed away at age 15, just before she was to receive an honorary degree from Duquesne University's School of Law.   Proceeds benefit the SBA Centennial Endowed Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to current law students and helps them realize their dreams of becoming attorneys. Last year's race raised nearly $5,800.
