What is Tuition Exchange?

The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and the Tuition Exchange, Inc. (TEI) - are the two networks of colleges and universities that admit, tuition-free, students from families of full-time employees of other participating institutions.

Each participating institution in the network admits a limited number of students on the same admission basis as they accept all other students, without regard to the number of students it exports.
The CIC and TEI was planned and developed more than two decades ago with a goal of creating a true-access program as a benefit to employees.

Exports - Students from families of Duquesne employees who choose to attend a participating CIC or TEI school other than Duquesne University.

Imports - Students from families of employees at participating CIC or TEI schools who choose to attend Duquesne University.

Exports to Participating Schools

  • Applications must be submitted to Human Resources in time to be received by the Financial Aid Office by the November 15 deadline.
  • Timely submission of forms is imperative since forms must first be submitted to Human Resources for verification of eligibility and employment date.
  • Duquesne will attempt to make decisions and notify students by December 20. Please note the host colleges will operate on their own timelines.
