Accounting

The Accounting curriculum prepares students for career opportunities as professionals in the areas of corporate, industrial, government, nonprofit and public accounting. The program provides students with a sound theoretical foundation as well as practical business experience opportunities, such as internships and use of technology. Many of our graduates choose to take the CPA Exam and are well-prepared to do so. Students should visit the NASBPA website for state-specific CPA exam eligibility requirements to ensure preparedness for post-graduation plans.

Accelerated BSBA-to-MAcc

Eligible students may earn two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and a Master of Science in Accountancy (MAcc) in five years. Students in the Accelerated BSBA-to-MAcc program take the same courses as a traditional accounting major but complete their undergraduate academic requirements in seven semesters. Accelerated BSBA-to-MAcc students will spend their eighth semester completing a compensated Co-op experience. Students in the program do not register for academic coursework nor pay tuition during their Co-op semester. Students admitted to the MAcc program complete that coursework in their final two semesters.

Eligibility is limited to freshman or sophomore students. Once admitted, students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.3 and accounting GPA of 3.3 to stay in the BSBA-MAcc program and be Co-op eligible.

Required Courses

A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) requires a minimum of 120 earned credits, 51 of which must be from the Business Core courses.
