Three credits of MUEN large ensemble courses meet the requirement for BRCC: Bridges Communication and Creative Expression.

Several Essential Questions Seminars also meet PHIL and/or THEO requirements.

Six semesters of MUPF 152—Orchestral Rep/Lit are required. Recommended that students begin in the second year. This course meets the Experiential Learning requirement after three semesters.

Physics 170—Acoustics is recommended. Available spring semesters only.

Offered in fall semesters of odd-numbered years. Students enroll concurrently in both courses. Each class is a half-semester long. Students will start the semester in Career Perspectives in Music I and switch to Career Perspectives in Music II halfway through the semester. Details of course dates are available in the university’s academic calendar.

Occurs each spring—string players should take it the spring semester of even-numbered years, before String Pedagogy (which typically occurs in fall semesters of even-numbered years).

Occurs fall of even-numbered years—typically taken in the semester immediately after Pedagogy for Performance Majors.
