Master of Science in Entrepreneurial Leadership (M.S.-E.L.)

The M.S.-E.L. is a 30-credit program that prepares students to successfully launch new ventures or lead existing enterprises with innovation and vision. Leveraging Duquesne’s entrepreneurship resources, including the Center for Excellence in Entrepreneurship and the Small Business Development Center, students will sharpen their skills in ideation, change management, pitching business projects, and securing venture capital.

Depending on the student’s start term and chosen path, the MS-EL may be completed in 1-2 years. The M.S.-E.L. is comprised of a mix of hybrid and online classes, and while much of the program can be completed online, several classes have high-impact in-person evening and weekend sessions.

At the completion of the M.S.-E.L., students will demonstrate proficiency in the following key areas:

Ethical Competency

Learners will be able to recognize ethical dilemmas in an organizational context and apply ethical decision-making frameworks to business decisions.

Management and Leadership Skills

Learners will gain collaboration and influence skills necessary for managing people and creating positive organizational change.

  • Learners demonstrate influence skills through effectively conveying managerial recommendations in both written and verbal communications.

Critical Decision-Making Skills

Learners will demonstrate an ability to analyze complex situations, analyze information and evaluate alternatives from different perspectives to develop solutions for business problems and to seize innovative opportunities.

  • Learners are able to synthesize data to support decisions.
  • Learners can strategically evaluate complex situations to set goals and design functionally integrative plans to move an organization forward.
